Either we have highly trained fairies living in our woods, or someone from the framing crew decided to work a bit on a Sunday. They framed two walls. One for the primary bath and another for the primary bedroom.

Framing Week 2 Day 4
The subfloor is in place and all the downstairs walls have been marked with chalklines. We can walk around and see the rooms! We think tomorrow they'll start framing exterior walls. They may not tip them up yet. Just building and staging them.
We've had several decisions to make about the back patio framing recently. Today was how we want to tie a beam that runs into the side of a post. We opted to have them notch the post and bolt it from the back, as that sounded like the easiest and most solid connection. It will also fit with the look of everything back there...no exposed brackets and a timber frame sort of look.

Framing Week 2 Day 3
The under floor inspection passed today and they started laying the subfloor. It's 1 1/8" tongue and groove plywood. The floor is SOLID.
Getting this first row in and notched was probably time consuming. But now that it's in the rest should go faster. I have a feeling the house will look a lot different tomorrow.

Framing Week 2 Day 2
They just have three short joists to put into place, then the main floor joists will be finished. More bracing between the joists is going in too. But it looks like they're nearly ready for the under floor inspection.

Framing Week 2
Joists are going into place. All the hangers are in and most of the remaining joists are staged and ready to go. I think tomorrow will be a big day.

Framing Day 5
It was mostly a "thinking day" according to the framer. We can see he finished stabilizing some things and marked the tops of the beams and sill plates in preparation for laying out the joists. Our second lumber delivery arrived today and it was a big one. It smells so good!
The builder is thinking we'll be ready for the under floor inspection on Tuesday possibly. I'm hoping that means joists will be set on Monday.

Framing Day 4
Today we made decisions about sliding door heights since that impacts exterior wall framing. It took 3 phone calls and a text message to sort out, but it'll be beautiful. We decided to go tall and plain with the doors so there's less to interrupt the view of the woods.
Another lumber delivery is arriving soon. Which is good since they're nearly through the first delivery.
And we have more plumbing decisions to make tonight. We've chosen fixtures and kitchen/laundry sinks, but bath sinks, tubs, and toilets need to be selected. Busy week!
