Tree Day

Today was tree shopping day with my sister!  I did not get daylight pics but we hauled home some beautiful maples and several Korean Spice Viburnum hopped in the truck too.

Looks like they planted around the fire pit, put the beams in place in front of the play chips, spread more material for the lawn base, and spread mulch in the garden.  Inside, the drywall crew did their final touch ups.

Plumbing Wrap Up Day 1 & Other Stuff

We have kitchen faucets!  There's little areas of plumbing progress all through the house.

Drywall touch ups are flying.  They've already re-textured all repair spots.

And the flooring guy finished the landing...finally!

Drywall Wrap Up

Drywall touch ups have begun.  Feels like a big step backwards but it has to happen.  (Thanks to our special masked visitors who helped identify the "oops" spots on Sunday) And we started stockpiling more bags of concrete for the fence project.  60 bags today and lots more to go.

Return to Progress

We had about 5 minutes tonight to check out the primed and textured walls and the fireplace progress that happened while we were gone.  It's still wet, but looks great.

This coming week while the interior walls are being painted, our cabinets will be built.  They'll be delivered the following week, Aug 30-Sept 3.

Our move-in date is going to be a little later than we hoped.  The most recent completion date is the 2nd week of January or sooner.  We were hoping for a 2021 move for Jeremy's vacation accrual purposes, but it's not a big deal.  We're happy the house is being built well and it'll be done when it's done.

Looking for Adventure

We are heading out of town on an adventure!  By the time we get home the drywall will be ready for paint.  Agreeable Gray goes on the week of the 23rd.  Then next step is cabinets!

They're Back!!

They were back to work today!  All of the chimney surface above the roof has stone.  And the drywall guys sanded and put a second coat of mud throughout the whole house.  The walls are looking a lot less rough.

Smells Like Mud

Major drywall progress this week.  All seams and corners have a 2nd coat, and all screw holes have been filled once.  It seems like perfect timing that it can dry over the weekend.  The house definitely smells wet right now.  They had to remove the stair railing, so the upstairs is a little hazardous for now.

A Little More Stone

The drywallers are still hard at work this evening, filling holes downstairs and putting the first layer of tape and corners upstairs.  We stayed away, so not many photos to share.  But there's more rock on the fireplace chimney.  And clearly Mason did not inherit my fear of heights.

Drywall Week 2: Mud!

We have mud!  Monday they laid paper down on all the floors and packaged up the beams.  Today they put tape, mud, and corners on most of the downstairs and a couple ceilings upstairs.  And most of the fireplace out back has a scratch coat on it.
