No Salvatore Sightings

The neighborhood ravens kept flying over while I was working on fence posts in the thick fog.  It was a very Vampire Diaries pilot episode type moment.  Not sure who other than my sister will know what I mean, but it was a little creepy.  No vampire sightings though.

The heat pumps were set in place (finally!), and some bathroom mirrors are installed.  The plumber returns tomorrow, hopefully with the correct toilets.  Friday the door handles and bathroom hardware (towel hooks, tp holders) will be installed.  Our movie room couch is being delivered to the new house tomorrow.  Not the best timing, but I pulled up the ramboard, will vacuum, and have them put it in the center of the room in plastic.  It was so nice to get a look at our floors again!

Heat Pumps...Where Are You?

We finally have doors downstairs!  The painters have plastic all over (again) and continued sanding the wood posts and beams.  I've been told they plan to stain one stair post and then wait for us to approve before doing the rest.

In other news, we have been waiting and waiting for heat pumps.  They were ordered 6+ months ago and there's no eta on when they'll arrive, if they ever do.  We're limited on what units can be installed based on the setup in place.  But the heating company suggested a different unit that's available and works with what we have prepped.  I guess it's an upgrade, but they're giving them to us for the same price.  At this point we'll happily take what we can get.  We gave them the green light to move forward with the replacements, so hopefully they're installed soon.

Big Wall Sided

One more big wall is sided.  And some pics of the crazy hvac progress.  No new electrical today, but I did find the light fixture we wanted for the study for half price.  🙂

Front Siding is Finished!

The siding on the front is finished!  No offense to people with yellow and blue/gray striped houses, but we're already eager for paint.  🙂  They've attached the scaffolding to the side of our bedroom, so they're ready to go tomorrow.

HVAC was running more pipes today for the furnace.

We've been working with the septic designer to gather everything so the installer can apply for permits.  Tile is about to be ordered.  Electrician will be there tomorrow and I'm still sketching lighting layouts tonight.  There's a little bit of everything happening right now.

We Have a Chimney!

We have chimney stone!  Mortar will happen next week.  The siding materials were delivered and he'll start early next week.  The house will have Hardie board and batten siding.  More dirt arrived, HVAC looks finished, and we have so much to do to get ready for what's coming next.  Things are happening!

Scratch Coat

There's a scratch coat on the chimney and there's stone staged up on the roof!  This is the first finish material to be installed, other than the windows, and we're so excited to see it go up.  Maybe tomorrow?  And more HVAC progress downstairs today.  Slow going running ductwork in the crawlspace but it's coming together.

HVAC is Getting Closer

The chimney is ready for stone!  It's hard to see but the metal lath is covering the box too.  The sider dropped off some equipment, which seems promising. And the HVAC crew finished the upstairs ductwork and did some prep for the tankless hot water heaters in the garage.

HVAC Progress and More Dirt

They made a lot of progress on the ductwork upstairs today and they finished the dryer vents on Saturday.  And more dirt arrived!

HVAC Day 3 & Garage Doors

Friday HVAC work included return air progress, dryer vents, bath fan ducting, and connections in the crawlspace.

Return under the stairs
Furnaces look finished
Ducting Upstairs
Dryer Vents and Toe Kick Vent
Dryer Vents from the Back
Ducting for our Bath Fans

We recently chose our garage doors.  Since we have sets of 3 windows all over the house, we chose this 3 panel/3 window style.  Hopefully that was the right call.  The openers mount on the wall, so nothing hanging overhead.  We'll give them a try!
