Wowza
The lanscape lighting is in and it just kicked the whole exterior up a notch. I haven't been able to capture it well in a pic, but we love the soft light outside in the evenings. Next step is making final adjustments to the locations and angles, then burying the wire in the mulch.

Landscape Lighting in Progress
Our new home is wonderful, but I can't seem to stay inside it! There's so much to do in the yard and it's beautiful this time of year, despite our bad weather. I needed a break from planting, so I started working on the landscape lighting. All the fixtures are roughly in place, and the front yard is wired in. Mason helped wire a few too. We'll leave the wires exposed until it's lit up so we can easily make adjustments to the locations of each light.

Garden Fence
The garden fence has sat unfinished, mostly because I was sick of installing fencing. Thankfully Jeremy had the oomph to keep me going and we finished it together on Monday. Just need to put in the gate and it'll be contained. We don't have the time for a garden this year, but hopefully by next spring we'll be ready to grow some food.

I Have a Plant Problem
I try to plant several pots a day, but I can't seem to get ahead...probably because I keep buying plants. But the more that goes in, the more the yard becomes ours. I've already seen a couple hummingbirds who stopped by to check out the progress. And we had other animal visitors this week.
Our closet order should have arrived with the installer today, or it'll be next Tuesday. We're so frustrated with this process. But we finally received the longer cable we need for Starlink internet. Next Thursday the electrician is scheduled to come out to get things up and running, along with speakers, doorbell, and our bathroom pendant over the tub. Hopefully there'll be no more ugly cable snuck through our bedroom window after he's done.

5 Days Until Movers
I had help from Nevada today! ❤ We assembled a bunch of stuff and all the perimeter gates are installed. And two more loads made it over this morning and evening.

Still at It
Very random day of getting stuff done. Hauled multiple loads to the house. Picked up the stone pavers for a project out back (my tired arms are even more tired). Set the flagstone pavers in sand to finish the walkway so I can install the gate. (Again...bad project choice for tired arms). Hung up some humor in the powder bath. And Jeremy is working on installing the tv in the family room tonight.
Powder bath art.

Moving Day One
Day 1: We should be moving and not unpacking AT ALL. But we can't seem to help ourselves! We've been waiting for this day for so long and opening up boxes of things we've had tucked away is fun.
More fence rail progress today. We learned the driveway asphalt is happening Tuesday. Busy weekend and week ahead!

Another Fenceline Done
The south fence line has rails. Final touches happened inside. Pantry shelf brackets are happening as I type. We said goodbye to the dumpster.
Tomorrow the housecleaners come back for their last clean and the painters are coming to start exterior work again. We should have garage door paint soon which I'm so excited to see. The white doors stand out currently and not in a good way.
As soon as the cleaners leave tomorrow evening, Jeremy and I start moving. Next Wednesday the stair railing will be installed and our final plumbing inspection will happen.

Cold, Cold, Cold
For the record, when I said "we'll build the fence", I thought we'd be building it in late summer. NOT winter. Winter fence building in the PNW is about as fun as you'd imagine. Jeremy and I got a great start today, and after he left I mastered the art of hanging 16' fence rails by myself. I'm beat. But the fence is starting to look nice.
Abra Cadabra
The landscapers are magicians. They float around, leaving no footsteps. All done for now until our missing plants arrive. Now it's our turn to plant a few things and work on the fence. One tree down so far and a little bit of fence rail. We'll be planting with headlamps tonight.
