We Have Keys!

Asphalt is done!  But the even bigger news is our septic As-Built has been approved by Public Health.  That's a big milestone and clears the way for final steps.

Painters are wrapping up the exterior today, but may have touch ups next week.  The stair rail will be finished Monday.  Final inspection will be Tuesday.

Utilities Aren't Glamorous...

...but they're important!

The septic tanks and drainfield area were backfilled!  Next step is final grading of the yard, which might happen this week.  Then they can prep for concrete out front.

Cabinets start arriving this week and they should begin installation shortly after. Nervous and excited to see them!

And since you're all probably tired of me posting photos of dirt, here's our pretty kitchen backsplash tile.  🙂

Septic is In

It looks like the septic is in and ready for the designer to come inspect.  Insulation and drywall start this coming week.  It's kind of hard to believe.

Exterior Fireplace and Septic Day 1

Gary was busy building the fire box today.  It looks great so far.

The septic tanks were buried and they cleared for the drainfield.  The plan is to finish the entire install tomorrow.

Masonry Details

I met with Gary the stone guy and the builder this morning to work out details for the outside fireplace.  He started working on it today but mostly just figuring, measuring, and marking things.  He assured me it was going to be beautiful no matter what I decided, but hopefully we got it right.

Plumbing passed inspection. The framing inspection has been requested and will probably happen tomorrow.

The septic system install begins tomorrow.  I've been told they're very fast.

Shim and shave continues.  Insulation and drywall are still set to start next week.
We're finalizing interior door details and will be choosing light fixtures, door hardware, and cabinet hardware soon.
