Interior Paint Color

This week we gave the builder our final decision for the interior wall paint color, type, sheen, and ceiling color.  We were supposed to have a few more weeks to decide, but the painter has experienced supply issues lately (no surprise) so he wants to get our paint in-hand early.  I think he said they need 100 gallons.  Yeesh.

So...here's our interior wall color!  Agreeable Gray from Sherwin Williams.

It's a popular color for good reason.  It's a warm, light gray and we think it'll be just right in the new house.  This will be the wall and ceiling color everywhere.

Jeremy and I joke that it might be his signature color, since he tends to be quite agreeable and not very "black or white" about much.  😆

Drywall Day 5: All Up and Ready for Mud

All the drywall is up.  They removed their scraps and cleaned up a bit.  We should see some mud happening next week!

Drywall Day 4

They're almost done with hanging. Just the stairway and a few spots here and there.  They'll easily finish tomorrow.  And we think the back chimney has reached it's full height.

Drywall Day 3

Just wow.  All ceilings are done in the entire house, and many areas have a row hanging on the walls too.

Drywall Day 2: Whoa!

Either they had a bigger crew today or they stocked up on energy drinks because so much more drywall went up than we expected.  The family room is done.  All the kids' ceilings upstairs and Viv's bathroom ceiling are done.  They definitely went after the most difficult areas first and got them out of the way.  And the chimney keeps going up, up, up.

Drywall Day 1

Drywall hanging day 1.  The vaulted ceilings in our bedroom and the movie room are done.  They're staged to start Evan's bedroom ceiling tomorrow.  And the outside fireplace chimney is slowly getting taller.

Drywall is Staged

Goodness there's a lot of drywall staged in the house.  And 12' sheets!  We're realizing it probably took most of Friday just getting it distributed to different rooms within the house.  And there's a big stack of mud boxes in the kitchen.  Hanging should start Monday and they'll be working for the next 4 weeks or so.

The insulation crew is working today (Saturday) finishing things off.  Our house is very fluffy and pink inside, and quiet.

The exterior fireplace upper chimney perfectly fits between the framing up high.  The side posts are now boxed in too.  We're so excited to see this come together.  I think it's the thing Jeremy is most looking forward to in the new house.

Drywall Begins Tomorrow!

Drywall starts tomorrow!  They've already delivered some equipment.  The material arrives in the morning and they're supposed to start hanging it in the afternoon.  The tricky part is the insulation isn't quite finished, so tomorrow should be an interesting day on the jobsite.

The fireplace tiers are built and looking good.

And I hid a little good luck in the wall tonight.  It didn't take long to find a penny from each of our birth years.

Insulation Day 1

It's amazing how insulation changes a house.  The biggest change is how it sounds.

They aren't finished yet and I'm not sure what that means for drywall, which was supposed to arrive tomorrow.  But I'm glad insulation is happening.
