Stuck

It's going to be a quiet week.  The electrician tried to come today, but ended up in a ditch on the road coming into our neighborhood.  Fortunately he was fine and the builder got him out.  I'm assuming he didn't have chains on.  Appliance delivery has been postponed to next week.  Not much we can do but wait out the weather!   

In the meantime, I'm looking through pics from my nursery visit last week.  Trying to choose favorites to include right away, and others to add over time.  Here's a few that might make the cut.

Snow Day

Looking pretty in the snow.  We decided to get the driveway ready in case appliances could come on Tueaday.  I shoveled a wide path to the garage on the concrete, and had one wide tire path cleared almost all the way to the road when I learned the builder has a snow blower.  🙄  Very thankful he brought it over to finish the job.  

One Post Down...

Everyone is taking a much deserved long weekend off.  Which means we can sneak over and do things!  Fence post #1 is in.  Only 72 more to go.  🤣 

They set the generator in place yesterday.  It should be wired in next week.  

And I couldn't help but pop inside and admire the countertops and backsplash together.  I love how they turned out.

The Kitchen is Merry and Bright

Seeing these pendants in the kitchen is an early Christmas gift.  They're dirty, but I don't care.  And the finished backsplash is a bonus.  Appliances are being installed on Tuesday!

Ludicrous Speed

It's hard to keep track of what happened today, what's happening tomorrow, and what we need to do.  Things are suddenly moving very quickly.  Light fixtures, ceiling speakers, outlets and switches are going in.  I met the electrician to determine light fixture heights first thing this morning and most are already installed. More faucets are in along with the boys' shower doors.  Kitchen tile wrap up, the fireplace components, and water heaters are happening very soon.  I spent hours at a wholesale plant nursery today trying to figure out the landscaping.  The closet designer is waiting on our feedback.  We have a very long fence to build. We're supposed to be purging, packing, and getting our house ready to sell.  And...Christmas.  I'm ready for a nap.

Electrical is Moving, Plumbing Isn't

Electrical is moving right along!  Our exterior wall lights haven't arrived yet, but a couple flood lights went up today.

Lots of switches and outlets were wired in.  I like how they stage the switches...hanging off the ground wires. 

The back porch ceiling is sealed.  

The boys' faucets were installed.  All the toilets arrived, but they weren't what we ordered so that's getting straightened out. 

And painting the attic storage space is more fun with Mason's help.

The Beast

This hood was a beast!  Total team effort to get it on the wall.  It wasn't easy. But we did it!

It's Brighter!

So many switches and can light trims went in today.  The electrician is FAST.  

The a/v cabinet we dropped off is unpacked. 

Our tub is on-site and the barn doors for the study arrived (big crate).  

We delivered bathroom mirrors.  Thermostats and floor register covers are in.  Tomorrow is another big day!

Porch Prep

When we dropped off light fixtures today we were able to see the prep work they've done on the back porch. Hopefully sealer will go on the wood soon.  And it was nice to check out the inside in the daylight.  Tomorrow should be a big day!

Goodbye Plastic

The house is back!  Just a few items to wrap up tomorrow or Monday on the trim.  Not sure when they'll start staining the posts and beams.
