Move Date!!!

March 13th! We have a move date! Sort of! The moving company has two people and a truck available for 4 hours on the 13th, so we grabbed it. Moving on short notice is tricky because companies are booked up. We plan to have them move as much of our heavy stuff as possible on the 13th, and we'll start sleeping there that night.

Between this Friday night and our big move date, we'll be moving non-essential stuff ourselves. It's going to be messy and chaotic and nothing like what I planned for our move. But we feel the pressure to get our house listed asap, and this is the way to do it.

The finish carpenter wrapped up some details...feet on vanities, base trim around posts. The painters will stain the new trim when they come for final interior touchups later this week. Plumbing final touches happen this week. The dumpster leaves at the end of the week. Our final clean happens Friday, then moving begins. Our to-do list is massive.

Slowly But Surely

So much rain!  But I finished the rails on the back fence line this morning.  If I can pop over and do a little each day, it'll slowly get done.  Jeremy's post cuts look so nice in the daylight. And the grass is GREEN.

B.F.S.

Sometimes you have to rent the right tool for the job. This time a 16" circular saw did the trick.  Jeremy cut every single post to height.  It was near dark when he finished, so no good pics.  But it's looking better and better out back.

Cold, Cold, Cold

For the record, when I said "we'll build the fence", I thought we'd be building it in late summer.  NOT winter.  Winter fence building in the PNW is about as fun as you'd imagine.  Jeremy and I got a great start today, and after he left I mastered the art of hanging 16' fence rails by myself.  I'm beat.  But the fence is starting to look nice.

Abra Cadabra

The landscapers are magicians.  They float around, leaving no footsteps.  All done for now until our missing plants arrive.  Now it's our turn to plant a few things and work on the fence.  One tree down so far and a little bit of fence rail.  We'll be planting with headlamps tonight.

Ready For Sod

Big crew working today. Looks like they're ready for sod! Some plants we planned for aren't available right now, so we're figuring that out. We put one big tree in the ground tonight, but it was too dark for pics by the time we finished.

Electrical final inspection happened today. Final interior cleaning is happening March 4th and we have the green light to start moving extra furniture or anything we want out of the way after that date. Our official move-in date is still tbd, but will probably be about a week later or so. Sometime in mid-March. Instead of our move date being too far away, now it seems too soon! So much to do and not enough days to do it.

Tree Day

Today was tree shopping day with my sister!  I did not get daylight pics but we hauled home some beautiful maples and several Korean Spice Viburnum hopped in the truck too.

Looks like they planted around the fire pit, put the beams in place in front of the play chips, spread more material for the lawn base, and spread mulch in the garden.  Inside, the drywall crew did their final touch ups.

Pantry Progress

The cabinet elf finished the second pantry cabinet.  But she grumbled something about being sick of buiding cabinets, so we'll see how the final cabinet goes.  😉

At Last

We dropped off the folding table in the laundry room.  We designed the entire room around this table and have had it tucked away for years waiting for this day to come.  So yay!

Landscaping Day 4

Landscaping Day 4: We continue to be surprised with how quickly they're moving.  They expect to finish this coming week.  We have some minor adjustments but otherwise love what they've done so far.  And the electrician installed the exterior wall lights today!

Landscaping Day 3

Landscaping day 3 was another big one!  Two trees are planted, along with a ton of salal.  More irrigation and wire progress.  Some accent rocks are set in place and beds are taking shape.  It looks so good already.  I think Jeremy and I will live outside and the kids can have the house.

On the interior, kitchen pulls are on the cabinets.  The log set is in the fireplace.  And the pantry cabinet maker made good progress on the second cabinet.  😉
