Ready For The Next Step

Thank you to our aerial photographer (Mason) for grabbing some pics of the site with his drone.  All ready for framing to begin on Monday!

Crawlspace Rock

The washed rock was sprayed into the crawlspace today.  You can count on me taking a broom and sweeping things off as soon as I can.  🤪
Otherwise it's going to be a quiet week.  Our to-do list includes decisions about shower niche dimensions, cabinet layout in the laundry room, and size of beams in the great room ceiling.  Today we had to decide about back porch beam dimensions and kitchen/dining beams.
Power will be coming next Tuesday the 19th, and we've been told the framers will start immediately afterward.  In fact, our first lumber drop might be Monday.  We're ready for the project to "go vertical" as our builder says.

Trench

They're not messing around with the water line trench!  They dug from the well up to the house on Wednesday.  Today I think they plan to run the pipe.

They also brought in some finer gravel for the garage base and the back patio.

The backyard needs more dirt to fill in the valley and create a level area (something we're quite familiar with from the big fill project at our current home).  The builder has let people know we need dirt but no one is really hauling much this time of year so it may be a while until the backyard is formed.

Gravel Move

They were back to work today scraping more gravel off the well road and repurposing it for the driveway and back patio area.

The plan is to run the water line from the well to the house this Thursday...the one dry day of the week.  We've gotten SO MUCH RAIN and even though the site is handling it pretty well, it still shows.  It's a messy time of year for dirt work, but not much we can do about it!  Hoping the weather cooperates so they have a dry day for running the main water line.

As far as we know, power is still planned for Jan 19th.  They'll trench across the main road and get us hooked up.  Sometime between now and then, drain rock will be blown into the foundation crawl space.  And framing is set to begin shortly after we have power.  Can't wait!
