We have a hood! In one piece! It's beautiful and unique, and I think it'll look great in the kitchen. It'll stay safely tucked in it's Indiana Jones crate for a couple more weeks. Once the painters are out of there it can be installed.
Speaking of painters, they finished prep work and started priming downstairs. They were still spraying this afternoon so I didn't go in, but took a pic of the primed garage windows.
And the concrete cutters were here! They did a great job and I like the pattern we came up with. The bad news is it sounds like the strike will most likely be lengthy, extending into 2022. The divide between what's being asked for and what's possible to give is massive, so it doesn't look like a resolution is coming anytime soon. To be clear, I'm not anti-union. But there are reasonable asks and unreasonable asks. A lot of other trades are out of work before the holidays because one group is asking for too much. We're looking into options to get the rest of this poured but nothing promising so far.
