All main floor walls are in (except for the big guy out back) and they're supported with extra bracing. It's a maze of angled supports all over the place that will keep things stable as they start constructing the 2nd floor. This afternoon we finalized the window layout for the Great Room exterior wall. I was relieved to know the vault begins lower down, like we initially thought. It'll be tall but not too tall to the peak. They plan to lift that wall into place tomorrow morning. The interior posts and beams will be delivered tomorrow and I think they plan to start putting them into place right away. The house will look different tomorrow evening.
Truss delivery day is Feb 24th, which means the 2nd floor will be complete before then!
We have beam layout decisions to make for the Great Room tonight. The spacing impacts the quantity of beams, and they need to be ordered. We also need to confirm appliances. Prices jump March 1st for some brands, so our order will go in before then. We're still researching indoor fireplaces to decide what we want so they can frame it. And we've been asked to pick out roofing soon. Lots to do!
